Ride like a gaucho

Discover this unique experience offered by Finca La Fé: horse back riding in the Yungas jungle, one of the last primary forests in Argentina.

The excursions are suitable for all levels of riders. They take place in the different landscapes of the finca. The riders will follow trails through the dense jungle vegetation, climb to the panoramic peaks on their Criollo horses or ride down the steep banks of the river.

on the jungle trails

This ride is suitable for beginners. Before setting off, the gaucho from the finca who accompanies you will teach you how to handle a Criollo horse and the safety instructions for riding.

For almost three hours, the riders follow paths that wind through the vines and trees that are characteristic of the Yungas, until they reach a viewpoint from which they can admire the immensity of the surrounding mountains. Here they stop for a picnic before returning to the finca.

More experienced riders will appreciate this tour, which takes you through the mountains of the Yungas.

You’ll follow trails through subtropical jungle before joining an old gaucho trail that leads to a mirador with spectacular views of the Yungas. Here you will enjoy a gourmet picnic prepared by our team.

The rugged terrain and steep gradients make this route a pleasant sporting challenge.

like a gaucho

Spend a day with one of the finca’s gauchos. Join them in their daily activities.

In the morning you will discover the “sacar leche” experience in the gaucho corral. This involves milking a cow’s udder by hand and tasting the freshly frothed milk. You will prepare your horse, an authentic Argentinean Criollo, with local harnessing.

Then you’ll go on an adventure through the jungle forest with the gaucho and his dog. You’ll be searching for lost cows. Once found, they must be lassoed and brought back to the finca’s corral.

During this ride you’ll see the different landscapes typical of a Jujuy finca: primary forest, a large plain for galloping, hilltops, a river, etc.

Riders must be in good condition due to the rough terrain.

what will do

the horse's well-being is our priority

We want to offer travelers a personalized experience, while respecting nature and animals :

– Horse rides take place only once a day, so that the horses have time to rest.

– The horses are saddled just before departure, and are released as soon as the ride is over.

– When the horses are not working, they stay into their natural environment, among other horses.
